Rachel also works with organisations to deliver cultural change programs for both staff and leaders in the area of Self-Leadership, Career Navigation for staff and Leadership Training. The IP3 Academy she has created is an extension of this ground breaking ability of hers to unlock Individual Performance, Purpose and Potential throughout the entire organisation through the power of online learning, leadership workshops and breakthroughs that can come from working 1:1 with a coach.

Rachel’s two premier programs have recently been hugely successful at Sportsbet in Melbourne, Australia. The Career Navigator Program for staff and the Career Navigator – Effective Career Conversations Leadership Skills Program for leaders. Both programs included group workshops and 1:1 coaching support for leaders and staff.
In September 2014 the organisation recorded 66% employee engagement with ‘more support in development’ as one of their key requirements for 2015. The Career Navigator programs created and delivered by Rachel Sparkes was key to a significant lift to 75% in employee engagement by November 2015. This lift has largely been attributed to the strategic focus on careers and personal development of the teams and leaders, including the Career Navigator program.
The objective of the Career Navigator program was to focus on providing a 3rd party ‘career coach’ for each individual, support them for their personal goals outside the organisation goals and to increase the leadership capability around career coaching conversations.
Almost 20% of the entire organisation ‘self selected’ to participate in the programs Rachel was involved with Sportsbet over a 12 month period including the pilot, a company wide ‘CareerDevFest’ (day long career festival), staff focused career development workshops, effective coaching skills for leaders and 1:1 coaching support for leaders and staff.
Key success factors have been; the scalability of the program. Rachel has been able to run workshops for staff and leaders, participate in festivals and 1:1 coaching which has enabled her to have impact on hundreds of people in the space of 12 months.
Other success factors include the broad range of role level this has been suitable for – graduates to technical experts, team leaders and General Managers have participated in both programs all providing positive feedback on the ROI of the leanings, tools and ideas they have been able to take away from the program.
Another key success factor is that Rachel is NOT an employee of Sportsbet. She is there 100% for the individual, all 1:1 conversations and confidential and the message really is that the individual’s personal goals are supported and encouraged – it’s not just all about what they can do for Sportsbet but what can Sportsbet do for them. This is critical to the program’s success.
